Aarogya Setu is now open-source for developers, govt announces bug bounty programme
The Arogya Setu software has now become an open source for developers as the government tries to quench fears about privacy and surveillance. On Monday, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology released a notice stating the code for the Android Arogya Setu app was uploaded to GitHub and will be available for tinkering by developers beginning on Tuesday, May 26th. Meanwhile, the Government’s covid-19 monitoring app’s iOS equivalent will be open-sourced within two weeks. The National Informatics Center (a member of MeitY) has also revealed the developers’ bug bounty system that can identify bugs in the software.
